Everything about working with Hannah and Doug was pure pleasure! I knew from their first contact with me that this was going to be a spectacular wedding. The wedding itself took place at Ely Cathedral, which if you don’t know, is immense. In every respect. The reception took place nearby at The Old Hall, a beautiful Jacobean manor house with views over the countryside towards the Cathedral at Ely.
In the run up to the wedding we headed off to Greenwich park for an amazing engagement shoot. We really had so much fun, starting and finishing in the pub. Always a winner! It quickly came to seem like Hannah and Doug were old friends. I love working with people who you just click with, you know there’s always going to be a great result!
So fast forward to the wedding day itself, the bridal prep was astonishing in how relaxed, unrushed (is that even a word? if not then it should be) and how jovial everyone was. No bridezillas here! Just happy times in beautiful settings. It’s always makes things so much easier when the getting ready happens in big, light, uncluttered rooms. So Hannah was wearing the most amazing sequin dress from Jesus Peiro, what a stunner. Literally (and I used the word literally here…) so unique, and how amazingly well it reflected her sparkling personality! With the most perfect hair and makeup styling from Kylie McMichael,
I had so much fun working with these guys and capturing their stunning day, alongside the fantastic videographer Thomas Brown. Funnily enough the next but one wedding I did was also at the Old Hall, Ely, I look forward to blogging the lovely wedding of Laura and Chris soon…
Congratulations Hannah and Doug, hope to see you again sometime for a pint by the river! xxx
