What a start to 2017. Izzie and Jay’s beautiful wedding at Butley Priory in Suffolk was such a pleasure to say the least. I was very excited when Izzie first got in touch, I fell in love with Butley Priory on my first visit and had been longing for another opportunity to photograph in their beautiful light. Plus I knew that anyone getting married at Butley would have an immense amount of style and appreciation for aesthetics, basically any photographer’s dream! I was obviously not disappointed.
I think the grey dreary winters day just totally enhanced the cosiness of the priory, this could have been Suffolk 1500 AD! I just love the colours, the grey of the flint, the green of the grass and the Scots pines surrounding the building and the orange of the dead bracken. It renewed my love for Suffolk winters. Butley Priory really does have a special feeling to it!
Izzie and Jay were just the most perfect laid back couple, I love working with people who totally appreciate the natural, documentary style of wedding photography. Nothing’s formulaic, every wedding is as different as the people that make it. It’s times like this that I leave the wedding basking in what a joy the day has been, everything went right, everything seemed to be organised to a tee, nothing felt rushed, it was basically like being at a very grand house party.
I constantly feel so fortunate working with such amazing people in such beautiful locations around Suffolk and Norfolk. But anyway check out the photos, I’d love to hear what you think!
