I love taking photos of families, as you may have guessed being a Norfolk family photographer! Kids are so interesting and show so much diversity. They’re constantly changing, from being bold and brash to being quiet and introverted. There’s never a dull moment. It’s actually lots of fun doing shoots in people’s houses, there’s so much to see and do. You’re photographing people on their own terms which immediately creates a relaxed atmosphere. Stick a toddler in a studio and you first of all have the struggle of persuading them not to touch lights and equipment etc. In their home they can touch anything and do anything and all I have to do is record it. It’s great!
Of course it’s not always as easy as it sounds. You have to deal with very different lighting conditions and often complex and distracting backgrounds. But sometimes that’s the charm. Especially when working in ancient houses as beautifully decorated as this one. And when the house isn’t suitable there is always somewhere around the corner that is perfect. I really enjoy photographing families on walks which they all know and love. There’s always a special tree or meadow where children will relax and demonstrate their freedom!
If you’re looking for a Norfolk family photographer to create some beautiful, natural images of you and your family with a distinct documentary style then please get in contact. I always love to hear about your ideas for family portrait sessions, and I love creating something a bit different then your posed studio standard portraits.
